ok.. i have nt blogged for a while.. now, theres one thing tat touched my heart.. so i m going to blog about it.. its gonna be long..

as everyone knows, theres the protest going on in burma.. i have been watching the news and surf online news websites to stay updated with the news.. many of my friends asked me what actually happened.. i m typing it here so tat everyone can understand.. i may nt understand fully but i m typing wat i know..

during one of the day in August 2007, diesel fuel, natural gas, chicken, eggs and cooking oil was suddenly hiked.. and no one was notified about it.. like lets say you go and top up ur fuel today and when paying then u found out the price has been increased by 5 times.. a bit of knowledge for everyone.. most families working in burma dont even earn S$1 a day.. S$1 = around 800 kyat.. kyat is the burmese currency.. some pple dont even earn more than S$1 for the whole month.. so, with the fuel price doubled, how are the pple going to survive?

this lead to the demostration by the monks.. on sep 5th, sadly my bday, a monk was tied up and was attacked by the military.. after a few days, the monks wanted the military to apologise but they didnt.. so the monks lead the protest.. they wanted democracy.. and restore human rights.. in myanmar, monks are the highest ranks of sort of "moral".. for those who duno, in the past, when the british were still controlling burma, it was the monks who did the same and kicked the british out of burma.. so this time they are hoping for the same..

abit of history.. since 1962, burma has been under military ruling.. tat will make it 45 years this year.. in 1988, the burmese pple protested once and violent broke out.. in 1990, theres this election.. where the National League of Democracy won.. the leader is Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.. Daw is a prefix for "miss" in burmese.. but the military government refuse to give up the power.. and they put Daw Aung San Suu Kyi in house arrest.. it has been 20 years since then.. since then, the lives of the burmese pple hasnt been good.. all the profits made by the country goes to the military, none for the civilians.. i think last year or so, when the country is so poor, the military general's daugther gt married, she is wearing lots of jewelleries which worth millions of Sing dollars.. the military is enjoying all the wealth while the pple are suffering.. BUT THEY DONT CARE!

and the thing tat touched me was this show "THE MARCH OF THE SAFFRON ROBES" the advertisment.. they showed a monk.. he said something like, "monks do not own lots of possesion so we have to use our lives for the people.." something like tat.. this touched my heart.. its damn true.. i am a burmese myself and my family is "very" buddhist so.. last year, i went back to burma.. i be monk for 3 days.. honestly, when i was there, i tot those 3 days are hard to pass.. BUT u gt to imagine those monks that are monks since young.. how do they pass.. and there i m feeling like going home.. i felt guilty.. but i tell u.. in burmese, no matter how old u r, u have to respect god and monks.. during those 3 days, many of my relatives came and visited me.. all of them had to pray to me.. even my grandma u know.. monks do not cook for themselves.. every morning they had to wake up like 4 or 5 in the morning to go and collect food from the civilians.. and its a good deed to wake up early and prepare food for the monks.. oh ya, saffron robe is the robe the monks wear everyday..

so, upon seeing that sentence the monk said on tv, i cant help but have tears in my eyes.. and during a news, one monk said.. "the civilians were the ones feeding us even though they themselves have nth to eat.. so its time we, monks, give up our lives for them.."

so please, do watch the show on channel news asia if u can.. be aware of how the military is treating the pple.. and if u r reading this, thx god tat u can eat well and live well.. do not complain.. if u r paid less money for a job, always rmb the pple in burma dont even earn S$1 a day.. treasure wat u have.. i m going to change the way i feel about my life from today on.. live a happy life.. no offence but pple in burma are stuggling to live and some pple in singapore are trying to suicide or watever over small things.. is this worth it..

yesterday, all the burmese in the world wore red.. to pay tribute to the monks who died in the protest and to support anti government.. ok, i wont say all the burmese, u should know why.. in some other countries like malaysia, england, US and australia, the burmese pple are protesting in front of the burmese embassy.. u all may think this is a waste of time.. but pple are nt giving up.. they jus wan a better life.. they might be in some other countries but their family members are still in burma.. so are mine.. i will do watever i can to help..

to be honest, if u ask me which one i will choose, between burma and singapore, i will choose burma.. although its nt tat advanced, pple there are very kind and friendly.. no offence again but pple here in singapore sometimes fight over small things.. if i m given a choice, i will go back there and spend the rest of my life.. oh ya.. if u notice, i wrote burma all the way.. cos the original name is burma.. its the military who changed it to myanmar.. so i, tgt with many pple, prefer to use burma.. u should know why.. and if u had noticed, on tv, pple write burma.. and not myanmar.. they will write "free burma".. none wrote "free myanmar"..

so after all wat i have said, its up to u to judge the military.. i have writen my point of view.. wats urs?
